YOUTH MINISTRY

Are you the parent of a teenager?  Me too.  Are you concerned about their physical, mental and spiritual well-being?  Me too.  Are you burdened about how to help them flourish in a world that is increasingly non-Christian?  Me too.

At Temple Baptist Church we want to evangelize, disciple, encourage and inspire the next generation that they can achieve anything and everything that God has planned for their lives.  We want to make our church a place where they can develop healthy friendships, have fun, and at the same time grow in Christ.  We want to equip them to be able to become that next generation that can impact their world for Christ.  We want them to connect with their parent’s generation and realize that they really are “cool” people who are on “their side.”  We want them to know that we love them and desire to help them as they face the issues of life.

How do we do this?  We offer Bible studies that nourish the soul.  We provide fun activities where they can build healthy friendships.  We offer them opportunities in which to serve the Lord and realize that they are also a vital part of God’s economy – that they are important to God!  We do everything we can to help them grow in Christ.  But we also realize that how you do it is as important as what you do.

What does this mean?  Simply put, we want to allow the Holy Spirit to speak through our words, our testimonies, and our life experiences to minister to where they are and to what circumstances they might find themselves in.  We don’t want to simply offer them a well-run “program.”  We want to offer them “people” filled with the Holy Spirit who are seeking to guide them into a vibrant relationship with Jesus.
