VACATION BIBLE SCHOOL 2008

Train up a child in the way he should go, even when he is old he will not depart from it.
--Proverbs 22:6

WOW! what a week! 2008 VBS "Outrigger Island" was a great success. God’s unshakeable truth was taught in worship rallies, songs, crafts, missions and Bible stories, all to help our children learn to live their daily lives pleasing to God.

Thanks to all the teachers and workers that volunteered their time during the week. VBS could not happen without each and everyone of you. Another diamond in your crown!

Also, a special thanks to our VBS worship leaders, who are the future leaders of our church, Emma Lyle, Samantha Lyle, Kylie Lyle, Andrew Gibbs, Ally Bourgeois, and Julia Alexander. They worked very hard to lead the children, and adults, in song each night, and ended the week with a special play that told about God's plan of salvation. Great work everyone!

Our "penny parade" brought in $546.25 and was donated to "The Christian Community Outreach Center" in Old Hickory. Although the girls won with the most pennies, the boys gave them a good run for the money. Watch out for next year and start saving those pennies!

Vacation Bible School is one of the greatest opportunities we have to reach all people, especially children and preschoolers, during the summer months. It continues to be one of the most productive special events in terms of both finding prospects and leading them to the Lord.

Please check back for future updates regarding next year’s events!

Temple Baptist Church believes and teaches the following:

Admit to God that you are a sinner, repent, turn away from your sins.
Believe that Jesus Christ is God’s Son and accept God’s gift of forgiveness from sin.
Confess your faith in Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord.

Comments from some friends that attended the 2008 Vacation Bible School…

“This is why I like VBS, you get to sing, dance, eat, play games, but at the same time, you are learning about God’s Word.”
