MEMBERSHIP

If you have been attending Temple Baptist and find that you would like to become a member, you are encouraged to speak individually with the pastor regarding your reasons for wanting to join and understanding what membership entails.

Covenant of New Members with Temple Baptist Church

Because I am saved by the grace of God through faith in Jesus Christ, a member of the body of Christ and of Temple Baptist Church, with God as my help I agree to the following:

I agree to read my Bible, meditate upon the Word of God, and pray daily.

I agree to regularly attend the worship services at Temple Baptist Church unless hindered by health or circumstances beyond my control. (Hebrews 10:25).

I agree to abstain from gossip, backbiting, murmuring, and negative talk to or about others (Ephesians 4:29).

I agree to respond to personal conflict and disagreement according to Matthew 5:23-24; 18:15-17; Galatians 6:1; Ephesians 4:31-32, and other scriptures that govern human relationships.

I agree to regularly and consistently share my faith with others who are unchurched or unsaved and invite them to attend Temple Baptist Church (Matthew 28:18-20).

I agree to regularly participate in a biblical course of study that is consistent with the doctrines taught at Temple Baptist Church.

I agree to be involved in at least one ministry of Temple Baptist Church in order to personally glorify God, edify believers, and persuade sinners to be saved through the ministry of the church.

I agree to give my tithe at Temple Baptist Church for the furtherance of God’s kingdom (Malachi 3:8-11).

I agree to abstain from behavior that would hinder my walk with the Lord and cast a negative testimony upon my church.  This includes any immoral or illegal activities.

Foremost I agree to love the Lord my God with all my heart, soul, and might, and to love all others as I love myself. (Matthew 22:37-39).
